when to go to the emergency department
Open Fractures. Go to ER

 GO TO THE ER DEPARTMENT 

  • Sedation

  • GNPC does NOT perform bone reductions (if you need the bone pulled back into place you must go to the ER)

  • Serious Head injuries 

  • Amputations and partial amputations

  • Any open wound at or near a broken bone site

  • Any more than ONE limb with a broken bone

  • If immobilizing a lower limb will result in you needing a wheelchair

  • Broken bones at or above the knee

  • Children under 6 years of age will ONLY be evaluated at GNPC for finger or toe fractures that DO NOT involve the nail

  • If it looks DEFORMED go to ER

  • Want to make sure it's not broken

  • You can still walk on it or move it

  • Stable Fracture management
